The silent generation had the the Leave it to Beaver lifestyle. Only dad worked. Mom stayed home and raised the kids. Unions were strong, pensions were stable. Healthcare was affordable. A single income supported a family. Then someone voted for Reagan and uh oh, the middle class has never recovered.
