The problem is that most people simply can’t practice social austerity. When even the Queen of England gets COVID and the Prince has had it twice, two individuals of enormous privilege, well, that tells me all I need to know. AOC caught it in Florida on vacation for the love of god. LOL I’ve yet to meet anyone who literally practices what they’ve been preaching for over two years. I’ve been able to practice social austerity better than most because I’m an introvert who grew up in a closed society, a religious cult, and wasn’t allowed to participate in civilian pleasures. I now refer to my upbringing as COVID Boot Camp. The rest of the world has little to no practice developing self denial skills. It’ll never happen. Never.
