Thanks for this! A dominant characteristic of a fascist leader is they're ability to focus on one thing — winning. Whereas, you'll notice that those who fear fascism also equally fear a host of other problems. Their conscience is controlling how much time they devote to each worthy issue. Yes, they want to win, but they're far more concerned about solving problems and there are scores of problems that need solutions, too many to count. They become distracted. Fascists and wannabe dictators are single minded — they must win. Even if they lie, cheat, or sabotage another candidate to win. They fire their followers up by hand electing two or three issues that emotionally captivate and then focus their attention on winning. I doubt they care about the two issues that keep their followers emotionally connected to them. Abortion? Certainly not. Guns? Nah. Let the masses become preoccupied with such trivial matters. They're focused on winning. The kind of unification that they are able to inspire is amazing. Unity provides the impetus to put a dictator in power.
