Several years ago, I began to research the prime properties of the future. Most of what I read claimed that anything above the 45th parallel could be somewhat less affected by climate change. As you mentioned, no place is entirely free of risk, but clearly the new north across the world may see an influx of migrators from the south who can afford to do so. I bought land in the upper peninsula of Michigan. It was touted as being a possible safe zone in the future. I’m too old to build there, but I plan on leaving the property to my children and grandchildren as a possible safeguard against what lies ahead.
