My goal long ago was to live debt free with lowest overhead possible. That way I wasn’t constantly under pressure to make more money. Consequently, I’ve been completely debt-free for 25 years and I can honestly say my life is much more enjoyable than it was before when I owed money to credit cards and banks, etc. During that time. I felt like an indentured servant. Now, I feel like, I’m a little closer to being a free agent. I have done a little bit of investing, but not a lot. I’ve also never lost any money which I’m grateful for as well. However, I try make sure that at least some of my money is invested in hard assets. About three years ago, I started searching for the new prime properties of the future, and most of my research out of various universities, kept leading me back to property above the 45th parallel in the United States. So I took a trip to the upper peninsula and purchased some property. You might say I buried my money in the ground technically speaking. I feel good about it. because I really do believe climate change is going to change the way we live our life so dramatically and create a lot of movement all over the world amongst climate refugees. I have a little piece of land set aside farther north, where hopefully conditions might be a little less dire, and I will leave that to my granddaughter, who I know someday may need it.
