I’ve owned my home for twenty years. I mean own not paying a mortgage. It’s been the easiest 20 years of my life. My son paid his home off even sooner, by the time he was 48. I moved to a less expensive part of the country when I retired at 54. I paid cash for raw land two years ago. It’s tripled in price since then. I call that burying my money in the ground. There’s no quick and easy fix but if you live in the right area, owning your house free and clear as early in life as possible takes the pressure off the need to earn tons of money just to live. Btw, I also have lived completely debt free for 20 years. That was my financial goal early on.
