It is indeed a world trending far right. Some have already crossed the threshold. Hungary, for example. Italy is flirting with it. Spain has the Vox party which is gaining seats of power. Even South Korea voted far right recently. Of course, we mustn't forget Brazil. Poland is at the tipping point. I could keep going. Personally, I think it's the combination of a couple of things. The US is waning as a world power. Not out of picture, but definitely losing it's influential grip as China is emerging. There's a sense that the world order is shifting. Our allies feel vulnerable. What if China and Russia could put aside their differences and really work together? That's one of a number of very big what ifs. Historically, when an empire wanes, it's because a new one is beginning to emerge.
