I wanted to install solar panels but I had to choose between being part of the electric grid which meant that if we lost power due to a storm, my solar panels would be useless to me. Or I could go off grid and store my solar energy in a battery for my own use. However, if we lost power, I would need some way other than sunlight to recharge the battery. The whole thing started to sound complicated and expensive to install. I still think I may do the off grid plan but it's far from perfect. My main concern has been to have s power source during a major blackout.
