I make mental connections. I used to ask this question — do you feel like a mind carrying around a body or a body caring around a mind? I’ve always felt predominantly like a mind with this appendage called my body. If I can’t make a mental connection with someone, I’ll never going to feel like We’re on the same page.

Consequently, I have very few friends. I have lots of acquaintances and most people I think would describe me as socially capable but the kind of intimacy and connection that comes with friendship has been few and far between. Once again, I think it’s my way of connecting that makes it a little more challenging. My mind is seeking a mental connection whereas I think a lot of people are very satisfied with a physical connection.

I’m also an introvert so I rarely feel lonely or bored because I’m endlessly fascinated with my own company. Ha ha I think you’ve given me my next topic to write about. Thanks!
