I grew up in a religious cult that didn’t celebrate Christmas. They viewed it as a pagan holiday. Easter as well. I’ve never been able to throw myself into it since I left the religion. It just felt like I missed my chance when I was a kid and all I could see is that women looked exhausted From the Christmas events and people spent far too much money on junk to put under their trees. Still, I had two kids, who of course wanted Christmas and I have a granddaughter who wants Christmas, so I do it for them. But quite honestly, if it wasn’t for them, Christmas and Easter would just be another day for me. The only thing I do like about it is at least the poor working stiffs get a paid holiday.
