I can understand why you felt that way. But we now have enough information to stop giving bad men our attention. I’m fully aware that women and children and sometimes even men are victimized but women have more power than they think and need to start using it if they want to protect their daughters and themselves. Children, that’s a different story, they have zero power and are at the mercy of their parents to protect them. The culture is changing and women can speed the change up. If we want to be equal to men then we need to protect our rights. Men seem to be able to protect their rights. They walk through life with their eyes wide open. If anyone threatens their freedom they grab a gun. Women have lots of choices that they can make these days and they need to make better choices if they want to protect their lives and the lives of their children. My mother never lifted a finger to protect my brothers and sisters and I from an abusive father. That will not stop until women refuse to sleep with men like this and give them babies. Historically we’ve made progress but it’s time to put on our big girl pants and take responsibility for our decisions so that we can do better. I am 100% convinced that we can change things for our daughters. there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we can change things for our daughters. My life is better than my mothers and my daughters life is better than mine was. We can make the next generation the best yet but we must except that we have a responsibility to do so from here on out. We must change the culture around what it means to be a woman. I refuse to believe that women are destined to be victimized. That they have no power whatsoever to protect themselves. Once women accept that they have more power than they really think they do, then and only then can we start protecting children. Children are the ones who get hurt the most.
