Hi, there. I’ve missed your thoughtful responses. Yes this was a departure from my regular thought-provoking pieces, but it is something I’ve written about before just not for Medium. There’s a lot of confusion in our culture about what to expect from a relationship and often people are disappointed because their expectations were unrealistic. Sounds like you and I have arrived at many of the same conclusions in regards to personal relationships. I actually happen to think that even finding a good friend follows many of the same steps that are involved in finding a partner for life. commonalities draw us together. A mutual respect helps us to honor the bond that was formed.
