Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement, characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition. Maybe you’re not using the right word when you say fascism has major inroads on BOTH sides. I agree the country is a mess but I’m a pragmatist, and so I can tell without batting an eye which old man I want to see in office.
