About five years ago I bought land in the upper peninsula of Michigan. I had read that the region had the potential to become a climate refuge in the future due to being above the 45th parallel and surrounded by Lake Superior, Huron, and Michigan. I plan to leave it to my kids. I don’t know if the predictions will pan out but I thought it was worth a try.
