A Tribute to the Monarch — Butterfly

I will not deny

the power of the Monarch

butterfly

There is none other

like her

I watch her in the sky

with the grace of a queen

a royal fly by

And I bow my head

in honor of her passing

Always shy

With a strong sense of self

She is my ally

Just like her mother

Nature

There’s not a dry eye

in the garden when she arrives

or says goodby

I’m honored to witness her

majesty

For I can not deny

the power of the Monarch

butterfly

There is none other

like her.

Author’s notes: I’m ensconced in butterflies this morning. They are feeding in large numbers on my Mexican Torch flowers. I can’t think of anything more inspiring.

We all have different definitions of royalty.

If you’d like to know a little more about Mexican Torch Flowers, here goes…

They grow tall, over six feet. They are easy to grow and almost maintenance free. I sometimes stake them so the wind doesn’t take them down. I deadhead mine to keep them flowering longer. You can dry the flowers and then shake to capture seeds for use next year.

They have beautiful bright orange flowers. Stunning! Butterflies LOVE them. Hummingbirds LOVE them. Bees LOVE them.

Mexican Torch Flowers come with a guarantee to provide free entertainment for those who love to sit quietly and watch the critters going about their business.

Have a beautiful Sunday.
